For a day trip to Kilkenny City, you can easily access the town via public transport from several locations across Ireland. Direct trains to Kilkenny are available not just from Dublin's Heuston Station but also from cities like Waterford and Carlow, offering smooth connections with travel times typically under 90 minutes.

 

Bus Éireann and other private operators provide extensive bus routes to Kilkenny from key locations such as Cork, Limerick, Waterford, and Athlone, in addition to Dublin.
